Itinerary

Day 1: Lima

Reception, transfer and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2: Lima – Huarochiri (+ – 07 hours of route)

Transfer in private vehicle to Huarochirí. We pass through Chosica and its apple trees plantations, the fields of Chirimoya in Callahuanca, arrival to the cattle ranch of Huarochirí (3,140msnm), approx.1500 inhabitants in the district, known for its cheese. Night in a modest inn.

Day 3: Huarochiri – San Juan de Tantarache – Mesa Redonda (+ – 06 hours of trekking)

We walk to the village of San Juan de Tantarache 3,230 m (+ – 03 hours of trekking), in the valley of the Acacache River, then we take the Inca Trail to Round Table 4122m (+ – 03 hours of trekking). Camp.

Day 4: Mesa Redonda – Piticocha Lagoon (+ – 04 hours of trekking)

We continue the Inca Trail until arriving at Piticocha. Camp.

Day 5: Piticocha Lagoon – Pariacha Lagoon (06 hours of hiking / +300, -300)

We go up the valley in front of Pariachaca, along the west bank of the lagoon. Arrival at Pariachaca 4580m, camp.

Day 6: Pariacha Lagoon

Resting day. We can go up to the Chuspi and Chuspicocha lagoons. Splendid view of the Pariacaca peak. Camp.

Day 7: Pariacha Lagoon – Piticocha Lagoon (+ – 04 hours of walking)

We descend to Piticocha. Camp on the shores of the lagoon.

Day 8: Piticocha Lagoon – Escalera Lagoon (+ – 05 hours of hiking / + 200, -160)

We continue to the Pirca Pirca site to join the Inca Trail. The road is paved after the lagoon Mullococha 4400 m (+ – 03 hours of walking). Then, succession of flat parts and stairs, to the lagoons Escalera and Culibrayoc 4520m (+ – 02 hours of walking). Cuchimachay, site at the foot of Cerro San Cristobal. Camp at the Laguna Escalera.

Day 9: Escalera Lagoon – Col Portachelo (4,700 m) – Huasicocha Lagoon (+ – 06 hours of hiking)

We continue to Col Portachuelo, a splendid view of Pariacaca. We descend to Nimabamba, we go through a track(possibility of seeing vicuñas). Later on, trek to Huasicocha lagoon, camp.

Day 10: Huasicocha Lagoon – Pomapanca (+ – 06 hours of hiking)

We continue to Huariacancha and climb to the Col Wayraloma (4,109m), seen on the Hacienda Cochas. Camp in Pomapanca.

Day 11: Pomapanca – The Hope (+ – 06 hours of walking)

We cross the Canchayllo river until we reach the Quebrada Escalera, we go up to the Yanaututo cabbage, (4,112 m), down to the village of La Esperanza. Camp or overnight at modest hostel.

Day 12: The Hope – Concepción (+ – 06 hours of hiking) (+ – 30 minutes of route)

We go up to the waterfall of Uchucumachay, then we climb for the col Chiclla (4,238m). We descend towards the towns Huaylas and Miraflores. Private transportation to Concepción. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13: Concepción – Huancayo

Visit of the Mantaro Valley, the villages of Concepción, Santa Rosa de Ocopa, Huaylas and San Jerónimo de Tunán. Overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Huancayo – Ayacucho (+ – 08 hours)

Departure by private transport, we go through Izcuchaca. Visit of the Colonial Bridge, the town of Huanta. Arrival to Ayacucho. Overnight at hotel.

Day 15: Ayacucho – Andahuylas

Visit of the ruins of the Wari Culture, Pampa de la Quinua. We cross the villages of Chinchero and Talavera. Arrival to Andahuaylas. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 16: Andahuylas – Cachora – Zurite – Saywite – Cuzco (+- 04 hours)

Visit of the lagoon Pacucha, the ruins of Sondor, Saywite, Carcahuasi archeological site of Limatambo, Andes de Zurite. Arrival in Cuzco. Overnight at hotel.

Day 17: Cuzco

Free morning. In the afternoon, visit of the city: the cathedral, the main streets, the temple of the Sun or Koricancha. Visit of the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman and the nearby places of Pucapucara, Kenko and Tambomachay. Night at the hotel.

Day 18: Cuzco – Valle Sagrado

Excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit of Pisac, highlights its vestiges and the colorful market where barter exchanges have lasted for centuries. The course continues from Urubamba to Ollantaytambo. Night in Ollantaytambo.

Day 19: Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu – Cuzco

Transfer to the station and departure towards Machupicchu. Arrival at the foot of the citadel and ascension by minibus, up to 2300m altitude, where is the long-forgotten Inca site, intact at the top of a mountain in an absolutely grand place. Visit of the citadel. In the afternoon return to Cuzco by train. Reception and transfer to hotel. Night at the hotel.

Day 20: Cuzco – Lima

Transfer to the airport to board the flight back to Lima. Night at the hotel.

Day 21: Lima

Transfer to the airport, departure from Lima.
