Itinerary

Day 1: Lima

Reception, transfer and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2: Lima – Huarochiri (+ – 07 hours of route)

Transfer in private vehicle to Huarochirí. We pass through Chosica and its apple trees plantations, the fields of Chirimoya in Callahuanca, arrival to the cattle ranch of Huarochirí (3,140msnm), approx.1500 inhabitants in the district, known for its cheese. Night in a modest inn.

Day 3: Huarochiri – San Juan de Tantarache – Mesa Redonda (+ – 06 hours of trekking)

We walk to the village of San Juan de Tantarache 3,230 m (+ – 03 hours of trekking), in the valley of the Acacache River, then we take the Inca Trail to Round Table 4122m (+ – 03 hours of trekking). Camp.

Day 4: Mesa Redonda – Piticocha Lagoon (+ – 04 hours of trekking)

We continue the Inca Trail until arriving at Piticocha. Camp.

Day 5: Piticocha Lagoon – Pariacha Lagoon (06 hours of hiking / +300, -300)

We go up the valley in front of Pariachaca, along the west bank of the lagoon. Arrival at Pariachaca 4580m, camp.

Day 6: Pariacha Lagoon – Piticocha Lagoon (+ – 04 hours of trekking)

We descend to Piticocha. Camp on the shores of the lagoon.

Day 7: Piticocha Lagoon – Escalera Lagoon (+ – 05 hours of trekking / + 200, -160)

We continue on to the Pirca Pirca site to join the Inca Trail. After the lagoon Mullococha 4400 m (+ – 03 hours of trekking) the road is paved. Then, flat parts and stairs, to Escalera and Culibrayoc lagoons 4520m (+ – 02 hours of walking). Cuchimachay, site at the foot of Cerro San Cristobal, which cave paintings date back from 4 000 to 2 000 bC. Camp at the Laguna Escalera.

Day 8: Escalera Lagoon – Col Portachelo (4,700 m) – Nimabamba – Jauja (+ – 03 hours of trekking, 03 hours of route)

We continue to Col Portachuelo, splendid view of the Pariacaca. Descending to Nimabamba, we arrive at the track where our private transport awaits us to take us to the city of Jauja, the first historical capital of Peru founded by Pizarro. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9: Jauja – Huancayo

Visit the Mantaro Valley, the villages of Concepción, Santa Rosa de Ocopa, Huaylas and San Jerónimo de Tunan. Night at the hotel.

Day 10: Huancayo – Ayacucho (+ – 08 hours)

Departure in private transport, we go through Izcuchaca. Visit to the Colonial Bridge, the town of Huanta. Arrival to Ayacucho. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Ayacucho – Andahuaylas

Visit to the Wari Culture ruins, Pampa de la Quinua. We cross the villages of Chinchero and Talavera. Arrival to Andahuaylas. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 12: Andahuaylas – Cachora – Zurite – Saywite – Cuzco (+ – 04 hours)

Visit to the lagoon Pacucha, the ruins of Sondor, Saywite, Carcahuasi Limatambo archeological site, Andes de Zurite. Arrival in Cuzco. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13: Cuzco

Free morning. In the afternoon, visit to the city: the cathedral, the main streets, the temple of the Sun or Koricancha. Visit to the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman and the nearby places of Pucapucara, Kenko and Tambomachay. Night at the hotel.

Day 14: Cuzco – Valle Sagrado

Excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit to Pisac, known for its vestiges and the colorful market where barter exchanges have lasted for centuries. The course continues from Urubamba to Ollantaytambo. Night in Ollantaytambo.

Day 15: Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu – Cuzco

Transfer to the station and departure to Machupicchu. Arrival at the foot of the citadel and ascension by minibus, up to 2300m altitude, where the long-forgotten Inca site is, intact at the top of a mountain in an absolutely grand place. Visit to the citadel. In the afternoon return to Cuzco by train. Reception and transfer to hotel. Night at the hotel.

Day 16: Cuzco – Lima

Transfer to the airport to board the flight back to Lima. Night at the hotel.

Day 17: Lima

Transfer to the airport, departure from Lima.
